Assessments and Program Design

Member using treadmill overlooking pool at Fort Sanders Health & Fitness CenterFitness Assessments and Program Designs are provided by the Fitness Department and are services included with membership. The Fitness Assessments are completed with an Exercise Physiologist in the Fit Test Office. An Exercise Physiologist will perform a series of tests, explain the results, help you set goals and provide individualized recommendations to help you achieve those goals.

 

Program Designs are intended to familiarize our members with the fitness floor and translate the Exercise Physiologist’s recommendations into action.  The instructor will show you how to use the cardiovascular equipment, develop and demonstrate a strength training program, and give you a stretching routine. If needed, a Follow-up Program Design can be completed to make sure the member is comfortable with the exercises given.

 

The fitness staff suggests new members schedule their Assessments and Program Designs within their first week of joining the club.  We also suggest members complete these appointments every three months to gauge progress and refresh routines. All appointments last an hour each and are set up by appointment only.
