
Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center offers members an excellent aerobic conditioning program. We strive to bring our members safe and effective fitness programs while providing a wide range of different styles and formats to accommodate different fitness levels. Many members choose specific classes to supplement their workouts; others may prefer to make a variety of group fitness classes their only form of workout. Either way, attend all of our classes and decide for yourself! Classes are 55 minutes in length unless otherwise noted.

| Aqua Group Fitness |
This non-impact class allows freedom of movement with added resistance from the water. This class incorporates both shallow and deep water exercises.

| Awesome Abs |
This 25 minute class will focus on the use of the abdominals, obliques, and lower back. This workout will help you build those coveted "washboard abs" as well as strengthen the low back!

| Body Flow |
Current Schedule
BODYFLOW is a Les Mills, International class combining Pilates, Tai Chi and Yoga designed to make you feel longer and stronger, increase flexibility, and reduce stress. It will be a similar class each time that will allow you to get comfortable with the movements and to see the progress as your health and well-being improves.

| Body Pump |
Current Schedule
Body Pump is a 45-55 minute group resistance training class set to powerful and dynamic music. Students exercise using a barbell with light to moderate weights, a step, and 50-150 repetitions that target your body's major muscle groups. Body Pump is not an "AEROBICS" class, however, it is an excellent weights workout for the aerobics studio that claims to be "The Fastest Way in the Universe to Get in Shape"!

This complete muscular workout utilizes body bars, hand weights, ankle bands, rubber tubing, flex-balls, and a step to cover every muscle group from your head to your toes. It's a great class for anyone wishing to learn proper exercise techniques to use in the weight room or in their own home.

"A REVOLUTION IN AEROBIC TRAINING"
This class will change the way you feel forever. You'll improve your aerobic capacity and coordination, gain flexibility and become more physically and mentally aware. BODYSTEP is an athletically based step class with movements oriented around a step with varying platform heights. Two to three sixty-minute workouts each week provide the maximum results in the minimum amount of time. Easy-to-follow pre-choreographed exercises ensure your success. No surprises, just solid improvements to your fitness and well-being.

| Bosu, Stability, Strength |

This class focuses on core strength utilizing the Bosu, the Stability Ball and resistance equipment to work every muscle in your body!

| Cardio Jam |
Cardio Jam includes a little hi-hop, a dash of Latin flair, and a whole lot of fun to dance your way through a super calorie burning workout.

| Cardio Step |
Current Schedule
This high-intensity, intermediate level class will allow participants to add lots of power moves to their current step routines. It will also help them learn to travel around the step while adding intensity to their workouts.

| Go Low |
Current Schedule
This is a great workout for everyone from beginners to those who are "young at heart" and every special population in between. Class consists of 8-10 minutes of warm-up, 30 minutes of aerobic activity, 15 minutes of floor work and toning, and then a cool down. During this low-impact workout you will keep one foot on the floor at all times. Plenty of safety tips and modification information will be given throughout the entire class. Come join this low impact - high energy workout.

| Jointercize |
This class is held in the pool and was designed by the Arthritis Foundation. Focusing on joint mobility and range of motion from head to toe, this low intensity class incorporates both shallow and deep end exercises.

| Kick Boxing |
"Attention Athletes: NO AEROBICS ALLOWED!" Glove-up for this grueling 55 minute high-intensity, low-impact workout for those adventuresome athletes who want a little more variety. We will help you punch, kick, and jump your way to a higher level of fitness. We provide the gloves and ropes, and you supply your own wraps and the energy needed to kick box your way to a new level of personal fitness!
**Participants will wear hand wraps, boxing gloves, and use a speed rope during class. If you would like to purchase your own equipment, it is available in the Pro Shop. COME KICK IT WITH US!

| Pilates |
This mind-body awareness class is a core stability and body balance workout that increases flexibility, agility and mobility. Anyone who wants to be in top condition, whether you're recovering from an injury or in great shape already, STOTT PILATES is a stress-relieving way to achieve and maintain optimal fitness and well-being.
Note: A 30-minute orientation is required before you attend a regular Pilates class to allow you to become familiar with the techniques and positions in Pilates.

| Qi Gong |
Qi Gong was developed in China along four primary lines: to increase physical prowess, increase life span, improve one’s health and to give one access to one’s own spirituality. We will learn the forms of Soaring Crane Qi Gong because these are easily learned and students will begin to notice changes in mind, body, and spirit shortly after beginning practice.

This is a great workout for beginners or those who are "young at heart" and every special population in between. This class provides a low-impact, low intensity version of the Go Low class. Plenty of safety tips and modification information will be given throughout the entire class.

| Spinning |
This is a great 45-55 minute non-impact cardiovascular workout on a stationary bike. The class will emphasize the mind/body connection, and you will leave with a great feeling of accomplishment and exhilaration! This class is for EVERYONE - all members will work towards their individual fitness goals while participating in a group activity. Please pick-up a SPINNING Etiquette flyer at the information center and read before attending your first class. Come ride with us!

| Step Sculpt |
Easy-to-follow step moves with intervals of sculpting and toning using a variety of resistance equipment to increase your heart rate and burn those calories!

| Tai Chi |
In Chinese, "Tai Chi" means: tai - supreme and chi - energy. This ancient Chinese art combines slow, continuous, gentle and flowing wave-like movements of the whole body with specific breathing techniques for a calm, focused, and centered state of mind. Studies have shown that daily practice of these exercises help reduce stress and tension while increasing immunity, raising energy levels, lowering blood pressure, invigorating the cardiovascular system, and improving metabolism.

| Yoga |
Yoga is a class for everyone from the most basic beginner to the most advanced athlete. It is a wonderful way to improve your current physical condition as well as your mental well being. Yoga will help you develop strength and an improved sense of balance and flexibility. Please check the Yoga flyers in the information center for the different class levels, days, and times. Classes vary in length from 1 hour to 1½ hours depending on the level and days that they are offered.

| Turbo Step |
Kick it into overdrive for this hard hitting step class designed to challenge the more advanced exercisers with complex step patterns, lots of power moves and turbo-charged energy! You will step for 45 minutes and hit the floor at the end for some abdominal work.
